I bought this for use on my hardwood floors. Like others, I had been using a spray bottle of hardwood floor cleaner with a microfiber mop and was just not satisfied with the results. I had visually inspected these in the store prior to purchasing so I knew that the build quality was not extremely sturdy but I had also purchased Shark products before and had nearly always been extremely satisfied with their performance.
It was out of the box, assembled and mopping my floor in less than 10 minutes. I am very satisfied with the results. Streaking that I did notice was the result of prior build up of dirt on my floor that this steam mop had loosened; a quick wipe down with a white towel on such areas solved the problem. I would think that as accumulated build up is loosened over time, streaking will become even less of a problem.
It also did a great job on the area where my pets eat and in front of the dishwasher where there always seems to be a little condensation... Those were always problem areas with the spray and mop technique.
